- Wetlantic: We kicked off the day here, riding the rolling waves in the 100 m wave pool before drifting between themed corners like Jungle Beach and the Bay Watch Tower. With lifeguards always on duty, it felt exciting yet reassuring for everyone.
- The Lagoon: This quickly became our family's favourite. Spread across 30,000 sq. ft. with 10 different slide elements for children, families and thrill-seekers, it meant our group of 5 could stay together while everyone found something they enjoyed.
- Rushin Gushin: Only 2 of us were brave enough to take on this 70 ft. freefall with its near-vertical drop, and the scream on the way down said it all.
- Black Demon: We paired up for this 47 ft. tandem tube ride, twisting and turning through every curve. It was so much fun that we headed straight back to the queue for another go.
- What-A-Coaster: This seven-storey sledge ride, reaching speeds of nearly 40 mph, turned out to be the biggest adrenaline rush of the day. By the time we got off, we genuinely needed a few minutes to catch our breath before moving on to the next ride.

There always seemed to be another attraction or zone waiting to be discovered, and even by closing time, we felt we hadn't experienced everything.
The Little Details that Enhanced Our Experience
As we explored further, we realised that the experience extends beyond the water rides themselves. Water Kingdom is part of the larger EsselWorld entertainment complex in Gorai, which also includes attractions like Bird Park and Fish Paradise. While we dedicated our day entirely to the water park, it was nice to know there were other experiences close by for anyone looking to make the most of their visit.
We also appreciated how well-organised the park felt. Lifeguards were stationed across the major attractions we visited, and spotting a First Aid Centre with an ambulance on standby near the entrance added an extra layer of reassurance, especially for families with children.
Before our visit, we came across plenty of people comparing the two parks and wondering which experience was better. Not only were the prices lower than at the gate, but we also skipped the ticket queue and headed straight inside. Since Water Kingdom opens at 10:00 AM and usually runs until 6:00 PM (with timings occasionally extended at the management's discretion), arriving close to opening gave us plenty of time to explore before the park became noticeably busier.
We also felt that visiting on a weekday, outside the peak summer months of April to June, made a real difference. The queues at attractions like Wetlantic and The Lagoon were much shorter, allowing us to enjoy more rides without spending too much of the day waiting in line.

Mapping the Way to Water Kingdom
Reaching Water Kingdom turned out to be fairly straightforward, no matter where we were travelling from. Visitors coming from South or Central Mumbai can follow the Western Express Highway to the Borivali turn-off before continuing towards Gorai. Those travelling from Thane join the same highway further north, although traffic through Mira-Bhayandar can add around 30 to 45 minutes to the journey. If you're coming from Navi Mumbai, the route usually takes you via the Sion-Panvel corridor before merging onto the Western Express Highway, making it the longest drive of the three.
That said, we found that taking a local train to Borivali is often the simplest option, as it avoids highway traffic altogether. Whichever route you choose, it helps to plan your journey to Gorai in advance, as the final stretch passes through narrower village roads before you reach the park.
