We watched children gather beneath it, counting down to the inevitable splash, only to rush back and do it all over again. It was a simple attraction, but one that captured the playful spirit of Water Kingdom perfectly.

Next, we reached the Wetlantic Wave Pool expecting a simple swim, but its scale changed the experience entirely. One of the highlights of Water Kingdom, considered the largest Water Park in India, this 100-metre-long wave pool felt less like a water attraction and more like a shoreline adventure. It included 4 zones: Jungle Beach, Love Boat, Bay Watch Tower, and Cascade Caves; each section brought its own atmosphere and energy. From one end of the pool, the vast stretch of water resembled a tropical inlet, inviting visitors to step in and discover its many moods.
As the waves began rolling in, we found ourselves shifting between moments of calm and bursts of excitement. They were lively enough to make every wave feel like an adventure, yet gentle enough for swimmers of all ages to join in.
Seeing lifeguards stationed around the pool also gave us the confidence to simply enjoy the experience. As we wandered through its different zones, each one offered a distinct atmosphere, making it easy to choose between relaxing by the water's edge or stepping back in to catch the next wave.
Our Favourite Moments at Water Kingdom
Beyond the thrill rides, what made our day at Water Kingdom enjoyable was the variety of experiences waiting around every corner. As the biggest water park in Mumbai, it offers everything from adrenaline-pumping drops to slow, relaxing floats, ensuring there is something for every mood and every kind of visitor.
- Rushin Gushin: This was one of the rides that immediately caught our attention. The 70 ft. free-fall slide with a thrilling 90-degree drop delivered the kind of rush you expect from a high-intensity water ride, making it our favourite.
- What-A-Coaster: If speed is what you enjoy, this ride brings plenty of excitement. Reaching speeds of 40 miles per hour, it offered a fast-paced descent that keeps the thrill going from start to finish.
- Lazy River: After the excitement of the bigger rides, we found the Lazy River to be the perfect change of pace. Floating along in the tubes, it offered a calm and relaxing break before heading back for more adventures.
- Turbo Thriller: While wandering through The Lagoon, we stumbled upon Turbo Thriller, a lively space that seemed made for younger adventurers. Sprinklers, sprayers, and playful water outlets turned every few steps into another surprise, giving children plenty of reasons to keep running back for more.

One thing we noticed as the day unfolded was just how much there was to explore across Water Kingdom's 64-acre jungle-themed park. A single ticket gave us access to adrenaline-pumping rides, family-friendly attractions, and dedicated spaces where younger visitors could enjoy themselves at their own pace. With every turn revealing something new, we never found ourselves wondering what to do next, making it easy to spend an entire day exploring the park.

Getting to Water Kingdom from Across Mumbai
- Train and Ferry: Take the Western Line to Borivali Station, then continue by auto-rickshaw, taxi, or bus to the Gorai Creek jetty. The ferry crossing from Gorai Creek takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
- Metro: Metro Lines 1, 2A, and 7 connect to Borivali West, from where visitors can continue to the Gorai Creek jetty by auto-rickshaw, taxi, or bus.
- Car: Drive to Water Kingdom via the Western Express Highway from Mumbai, Ghodbunder Road from Thane, or the Sion-Panvel Highway from Navi Mumbai. Paid parking facilities are available near the park.
- BEST Bus: BEST buses connect different parts of Mumbai to the Borivali and Gorai Creek area.
From Tickets to Timings: Plan Your Splash Day
A little planning made our Water Kingdom visit much smoother. The park opens at 10:00 AM daily, giving us plenty of time to explore its rides, pools and attractions. We found that arriving earlier in the day was helpful, especially for enjoying popular rides before the crowds started building up. Children below the specified height limit can enter free of charge, as per the park’s latest entry terms.
Before our visit, we booked our tickets online and were glad we did. Online rates are often lower than walk-in prices, and we also came across meal-inclusive packages on the official website. It meant we spent less time at the ticket counter and more time enjoying the park.
