What We Packed Before the First Splash
The first thing we packed was our swimwear, and for good reason. If you're deciding what to carry to a water park, this is one item you don't want to overlook. At Water Kingdom, only nylon or lycra swimwear is permitted on the water rides, as cotton becomes heavy when wet, slows you down on the slides, and can damage the ride surfaces. Loose-fitting clothing is also not allowed for safety reasons.
If the right swimwear slips your mind, there's no need to panic. FAB 5, the park's on-site merchandise outlet, stocks a range of nylon and lycra swimwear, so you can pick up what you need and get straight into the action.
Dress Code & Packing Essentials
- Gents: We found nylon or lycra shorts to be the right choice for a comfortable ride experience.
- Ladies: Nylon or lycra swimwear with full or half tights and a T-shirt is permitted.
- Dry Clothes: Carrying a full change of dry clothes made it easier to freshen up and stay comfortable for the journey home.
- Footwear: Water shoes were useful while moving between wet areas. Footwear needs to be removed before entering any ride zone.
Our Comfort Kit for a Day in the Sun
Once the swimwear was sorted, the rest of our water park packing list came together much more easily than we expected. We quickly realised that carrying only the essentials made getting around the park far more comfortable, and a small drawstring bag or dry bag was much more practical than lugging around a bulky backpack all day.
- Waterproof Pouch or Dry Bag: Useful for keeping our phone and cash safe, while lockers meant we didn’t need to carry valuables around.
- Sunscreen: Applying sunscreen before entering the park and topping it up during the day helped us stay comfortable, especially with the constant splash and time spent outdoors.
- Sunglasses: These came in handy while taking breaks between rides or relaxing around the pool deck.
- Cap or Hat: A simple addition that made waiting in queues and spending time near the outdoor food kiosks much more comfortable.
The Must-Haves Between the Rides
As we were travelling with kids, we quickly realised that packing the right essentials made the day between rides much easier. We also appreciated that Water Kingdom offered swim aids for children building water confidence, which meant one less thing for us to pack.
- Extra Set of Clothes: We found that carrying a dry change of clothes was especially useful for younger children, as they tend to get cold more quickly between rides.
- Snack Plan: Since outside food is not permitted inside the park, we planned around the dining options available at Water Kingdom.
- Well-Fitted Swimwear: We made sure the swimwear fit well before arriving, as the same nylon and lycra rule applies to children too. Checking the size in advance helps avoid any surprises at the entrance.
From First Aid to Meeting Points
With the essentials packed, we gave our water park checklist one final look to catch the small details that made the day smoother.
- Prescribed Medication: We made sure any regular medication was kept safely in a waterproof pouch and stored in a locker while heading for the rides, keeping it protected and easily accessible when needed.
- Meeting Point: With Water Kingdom spread across 64 acres, we found it useful to decide on a meeting point before exploring different areas. The main food court or wave pool entrance works as a clear landmark, especially when visiting with a group or children.
- Leave Jewellery at Home: We kept rings, watches, and spectacles safely away before heading to the rides, as these are not allowed on water rides. Leaving them at home or storing them in a locker from the start makes the day much easier.
From Lockers to Lunch, It's All Covered
The best part of the day was realising we didn't need to carry everything with us. It's worth knowing what to carry to a water park before you go, but once we were through the gates, the park itself took care of most of the rest.
Secure lockers are available on site, with standard lockers priced at ₹200 and RFID lockers at ₹350. With lockers, separate changing rooms, shower facilities and free drinking water stations dotted across the park, we could store our belongings safely and get on with enjoying the rides.

When it was time to refuel, we found plenty of options across the park. We enjoyed pure vegetarian Indian meals at Food Wharf near the wave pool, while Taipan offered a mix of Indian-Chinese dishes in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
It was equally reassuring to know that a first aid centre, staffed by trained medical professionals, and lifeguards stationed throughout the park were always available, letting us enjoy the day with greater peace of mind.
